~1/3 Cup Vegetable Shortening
~1/3 Cup Unsalted, Softened Butter
~3/4 Cup White Granulated Sugar
~1 Large Egg
~1 Tsp. French Vanilla Extract
~1 3/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
~1 Tsp. Baking Powder
~Additional White Granulated Sugar for coating
~Preheat oven to 350F (170C).
~Cream together Butter and Vegetable Shortening.
~Blend in Sugar.
~Mix in Eggs and French Vanilla Extract.
~Blend in Flour and Baking Powder.
~Scoop into 1-inch balls and roll in additional Sugar until fully coated.
~Press sugared dough balls gently onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
~Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are barely golden brown.
~Cool on baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling.
